After the reveal at PlayStation Experience, details on Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
have been sparse. Many fans suspected that the game would
release sometime in the late 2017, based on its current stage in
development.
Now we have confirmation. According to a recent interview with 4Gamer, Capcom has confirmed Infinite will be arriving in the latter part of 2017.
Per the translation via Eventhubs' MajinTenshinhan, Capcom
producer Tomoaki Ayano was asked about the company’s ambitions for
2017. Ayano stated: "Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is set to release in the
latter half of 2017."
"But that's not all. . ."
Ayano briefly touched on another one of its popular IPs. Yes, Street Fighter is approaching the big 3-0 and Capcom is looking to commemorate the occasion in a big way.
“We at Capcom are very proud of this memorable
occasions,” he says. “Everyone reading 4Gamer, and anyone who’s a Street
Fighter fan, get as excited as you’re capable for this upcoming year,
please look forward to it!”
While that's not a whole lot to go on, I am hoping
the celebration ends up involves some type of limited-edition package
featuring all the classics. The old-timers would certainly
appreciate the effort.
